Friends of Newington Cemetery will be sad to hear of the death of the Revd. Dr. Robin Boyd, one of our earliest members, who organised the restoration of the JVS Taylor grave and installation of the new commemoration slab. Robin was such a cheerful participant in all our open days and committee meetings and his gentle erudition and enthusiasm will be much missed. He died on 14 June, aged 94. A thanksgiving service for him will be held at St John’s, Princes St, Edinburgh on Friday 22nd June at 2 pm.
