<span style="font-size:12.0pt">Swifts return to Edinburgh each summer to nest, migrating from their winter home in Africa. These amazing birds create nests harmlessly in small gaps in the eaves of buildings, returning to the same site year after year. As
buildings are repaired and maintained nest sites are lost. This has led to dramatic reductions in numbers. The Edinburgh Biodiversity Partnership have worked in recent years to create purpose build nesting spaces to replace lost nests.

<span style="font-size:12.0pt">To support this work, in 2017 we are carrying out a survey to update our records of where swifts are nesting in Edinburgh. We need volunteer to help with a really easy, short survey on an area of Edinburgh during June to August.
We have a training event on Wednesday 24<sup>th</sup> May at 6.30 pm – details attached.</span></p>
